โรงเรียนบ้านโนนงาม ตั้งขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 10 มิถุนายน 2511 อยู่ในเขตปกครองของตำบลโนนขมิ้น อำเภอหนองบัวลำภู
จังหวัดอุดรธานี เปิดทำการสอนตั้งแต่ชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1- 4 มีนักเรียน 58 คน โดยมีนายประเสริฐ พูลผล และ
นางเพ็ญภาพ พูลผล มาทำการสอน โรงเรียนมีเนื้อที่ทั้งหมด 34 ไร่ 2 งาน 41 ตารางวา พื้นที่โรงเรียนมี 2 แปลง
แปลงที่ 1 เป็นที่ตั้งของโรงเรียนเนื้อที่ 12 ไร่ 2 งาน 41 ตารางวา แปลงที่ 2 อยู่ทางทิศ ตะวันตกของชุมชน มีเนื้อที่
21 ไร่ 26 ตารางวา ใช้ประโยชน์ในการทำเกษตรของนักเรียน
งบประมาณในการจัดสร้างอาคารเรียน อาคารเอนกประสงค์ อาคารรวมน้ำใจ ได้จากงบประมาณหน่วยงานสังกัด
และผู้มีจิตศรัทธา ชุมชน ศิษย์เก่าจัดทำผ้าป่าเพื่อการศึกษา และหน่วยงานเอกชน เช่น องค์การแพลนแห่งประเทศไทย
ที่สนับสนุนในการจัดสร้างห้องสมุด สนามกีฬา สนามเด็กเล่น โดยมีผู้ร่วมจัดทำจนประสบผลสำเร็จ
